What better way to show Mom your love by treating her to a delicious Mother’s Day brunch? Brunch is a delicious tradition extending to a number of holidays, and Mother’s Day is no exception. Of course, it’s an ideal opportunity to spend some quality time with the mothers in your life, so don’t waste any time cooking and cleaning! Instead, heading out to brunch provides even more time to appreciate her. 

Fortunately, Eugene and the surrounding area have no shortage of fine lunch or brunch spots to treat Mom to an amazing meal and soak in that quality time. Some places that don’t have specific Mother’s Day brunches still have amazing menus, while others offer specific Mother’s Day offerings. If you’re looking for a specific experience or menu, be sure to check in before you go. And be sure to think ahead! You don’t want to be caught hastily figuring out alternative options the day of, and reservations for Mother’s Day are usually recommended. If your favorite place isn’t on this list, let us know!

Lion & Owl

Lion and Owl serves up delicious brunch items with a twist, and makes for one of the best spots for this Mother’s Day. If it’s been a while since your last visit, you may even find some new picks on the menu, enriched with plentiful locally sourced ingredients and frequently changing to reflect the current season. If you’re after the freshest ingredients, Lion and Owl is the spot. Not to mention the charming atmosphere, complete with modern wood paneling throughout and a fully renovated Airstream inside the restaurant providing more seating and a uniquely fun place to dine. 

The current brunch menu includes an array of toasts, a delectable breakfast sandwich, plenty of veggie-rich options. There’s even an herb -mothered salmon, braised beef cheeks and eggs, or the option to add a half ounce of tsar nicolai caviar to any order if Mom is looking to get a bit fancy. 

Jazzy Ladies
45 E 8th Ave.

Jazzy Ladies has been serving scratch-made homestyle dining to Eugene since 2015 and has certainly made a name for themselves since. Another great option for farm-fresh ingredients with world-inspired cuisine right here in Eugene, their mission statement says it all: “Good food made with love and served by your friends and neighbors.” 

The locally sourced, made-from-scratch nature of their menu items is evident in the quality and flavor. And there’s plenty to enjoy on the brunch menu, too — from their bestselling featured items like fried chickens and waffles, breakfast enchiladas, an abundance of breakfast hashes, four different mimosa options, and so much more. If you have anyone in your family with dietary restrictions, Jazzy Ladies is a great option with several vegan options and a fully gluten-free menu. Though most of the time people who eat here don’t even know, can’t tell, or don’t care that it’s gluten-free because it’s all so good! 

349 Main St., Springfield

The name says it all — Lovely is simply a lovely spot to enjoy brunch or lunch with friends and family. If staying organic is a priority, Lovely makes it easy with an extensive menu as organic as possible made from fresh local ingredients that the whole family, including the kids, will surely appreciate. 

They cook, pickle, and juice their own ingredients from sustainable farms you can feel good about supporting, with a menu catering to vegans and omnivores alike. You’ll find plentiful options, like oat and veggie bowls and an array of delicious smoothies and juices alongside a selection of toasts, sandwiches, and salads. Especially if you have a busy day of celebrating ahead of you, Lovely’s offerings will surely give you that needed boost!

Noisette Pastry Kitchen
200 W Broadway

It’s the age-old breakfast and brunch question: sweet or savory? While Noisette Pastry Kitchen can appease fans of both, the restaurant is especially great for pastry lovers, infusing high-quality local ingredients with old-world techniques and culinary artistry to serve up some of the best pastries and treats in our area. 

Along with their pastries, they sell bites like their German potato salad with house-smoked trout, fresh goat cheese in olive oil, or little jars of chicken liver pate, just to name a few. While Noisette will be open for regular hours on Mother’s Day, they also offer curbside and to-go services. So if you’re looking to take home some individual tarts, cookies, or even a whole pie or cake to enjoy later, Noisette has you covered.

The Gordon Tavern
555 Oak St.

The Gordon Tavern is already known for its wide array delectable classic American comfort foods with a Northwest flair for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner (and don’t forget the abundant drink menu). This iconic spot also tends to offer a special Mother’s Day brunch buffet, and this year is no exception. 

Complete with a unique spread of fresh fruits, pastries, traditional savory breakfast fare, along with a carving station featuring prime rib and honey baked ham, and topping it all off with a delectable dessert bar, you’ll have a hard time trying everything on this menu before your belly is at capacity! RSVPs are recommended for the special running 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and $49.95 per person (or $14.95 for those 12 and under) gives you full access to this incredibly enticing holiday selection. Everyone should leave satisfied!

Bar Purlieu
1530 Willamette St.

Bar Purlieu is a contemporary farm to table bistro serving up some of the best French cuisine in the area. They’ll be shaking up their fantastic craft cocktails, a wide variety of champagnes, and of course their mouth-watering locally sourced dishes. This year, Bar Purlieu will offer a prix fixe menu for $70 a person along with drink specials and an optional wine pairing. At time of publication, the restaurant was still honing in on the details, but if their standard, always-delectable menu offerings are any indication, diners are in for a treat this Mother’s Day.

If you’re after a more laid-back brunch experience with a casual sports bar atmosphere, consider 6th Street Restaurant & Sports Bar. Complete with plenty of traditional breakfast options, including the novel Brunch Burger layered on a fried egg, and a plethora of yummy cocktails, this spot has acted as a staple of the downtown community for nearly 40 years.

Given the prime location, stopping by 6th Street could also be a solid choice if you’re planning a full day bopping around the city with Mom. The restaurant also offers a number of daily specials inspired by seasonal ingredients, so even if you’ve stopped in before, you’re bound to stumble upon something new!

Tavern on Main
338 Main St., Springfield

Upon entering this enticing Springfield eatery, you’ll immediately notice the trendy vibes and Art Deco stylings. Tavern on Main is already known for its weekend brunch offerings, with a number of creative sweet dishes like a rotating French toast or their lemon poppyseed pancakes. Of course, there are also a hefty amount of savory options, from the classic two egg scramble to the crispy brussels or hearty biscuits & gravy.

You’ll also find plentiful cocktails and alcoholic offerings, though Tavern also offers an expansive mocktail menu. If you find yourself in Springfield this Mother’s Day, Tavern on Main surely has the goods!

Morning Glory Cafe

While many of the restaurants on this list have some vegetarian- and vegan-friendly options, breakfast and brunch can be infamously challenging for those sticking to plant-based diets. For those looking for plentiful options in this regard, Morning Glory Cafe is the way to go. It’s Eugene’s original and oldest vegetarian restaurant, creating all dishes from scratch and using whole, organic food and ingredients whenever possible.

You’ll find most of the classics you’d see on any other breakfast or brunch menu here, with plenty of egg-centric options, a delectable breakfast quesadilla, sugary sweet fanfare like waffles and French toast, alongside a house burrito with rotating ingredients, a number of scrambles, a rotating menu of organic specials, and so much more. Even meat lovers are sure to leave Morning Glory with a full and satisfied belly!
