Board and Brush in Springfield takes DIY signs beyond your Pinterest dreams, making them a beautiful reality without having to buy your own supplies. Your experience level, too, doesn’t need to be at a professional level either.
“What inspires our staff is to greet people at the door and hear them say how unsure they are about their abilities, and then to see the grin emerge as they distress the wood and learn to use tools,” owner Kelly Warren says. “And then see that full-blown smile as they walk out the door having realized that they are creative and capable. It’s amazing to hand a woman a power tool and see the look of empowerment she gains.”
Board and Brush Springfield is part of a nationwide collection of stores that work to inspire everyone in making their own wood signs. They follow the latest trends, combining an opportunity for a creative outlet with wine and beer–perfect for a night out with friends, a birthday party, or just an all-around good time.
The Springfield location, the first in Oregon, offers classes to bring out your creative side where you’ll learn how to distress wood, stain and paint your design, and create a personal finished project for your own décor or to gift. The design options are endless and personal to the participant.
“Any design that challenges our customers to be more creative and trust their inner DIY instincts is a favorite,” Warren says. “We love it when a sign is meaningful on a personal level, or allows someone to show their love for others through a handmade work of art. Studio favorites include Oregon-theme designs, welcome signs, and those celebrating important family dates.”
Even though they only opened their Booth Kelly Mill district location in February, Warren says they are excited for what the future holds.
“We are just so thrilled to be the very first Board and Brush Creative Studio in Oregon and welcome everyone to come channel their inner DIY with us!” she says.
