Now that it’s autumn, the Eugene area comes alive with seasonal festivities, including pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and harvest-themed activities at local farms like Johnson Farms, Thistledown Farm, and Northern Lights Christmas Tree Farm. Anyone can enjoy these nice October days we’ve been having and participate in the various walking events during Walktober. What will you do this week?

October 10
Cortége
| Fans of cinematic, instrumental music such as Enio Morricone won’t want to miss Texas-based Cortége, touring in support of their latest release titled “Under The Endless Sky.” Tolling bells, deep twangy guitar, Spanish trumpets, and more create a mood. Screening of “All That Breathes”
| Nadeem Shehzad will be traveling from New Delhi to Eugene for a special film screening of the Oscar-nominated, Sundance-winning documentary “All That Breathes,” a three-way collaboration between Cascades Raptor Center, the International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council, and Wildlife Rescue/Raptor Rescue and Research. The screening will raise funds to support wildlife on a local, national, and international scale. Stick around for a Q & A with Nadeem to learn all about their fight to protect Indian raptors against all odds. Seating is limited, and admission is free with a donation strongly encouraged. Themed Wine Tastings at Sundance Wine Cellars
| Sundance Wine Cellars’ free themed wine tastings highlight various wine regions on Fridays, and on Saturdays, they host local and regional wineries. Downtown Springfield 2nd Friday Art Walk |
Tour downtown Springfield to see this month’s curated art exhibits. Participating businesses and storefronts in the historic district along Main Street and on nearby blocks will host live music and artist receptions. This self-guided tour is hosted by Emerald Art Center, a destination of local art exhibits and cultural displays. Visit them for tour directions (and to see their Simpsons exhibit). Circles in the Sand
| Join Team Circles as they make their way to Florence to kick start the 2024 Circles in the Sand drawing with Sand Master Park. This family-friendly labyrinth walk takes place each October on Florence’s Heceta Beach. Watch the design unfold as the Circles in the Sand team rakes the labyrinth into the sand. Rick Bartow: Crow’s Fear
| Karin Clarke Gallery presents Rick Bartow: Crow’s Fear, a richly diverse selection of works from the Bartow Trust Collection. Included are large pastels, hand-colored lithographs, and small drawings, while Bartow’s characteristic bird imagery (crows, hawks, owls, eagles) features prominently in monotypes, mixed media works on  handmade Japanese paper, and some of the finest drypoint prints still available. The pieces, created between 1991  and 2015, have been freshly framed for this exhibit. Together, they provide a highly representative cross-section of  Bartow’s works and of his powerful mark-making, reaffirming his stature as one of the most important leaders in  contemporary Native American art.
