Next week brings Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras, with this weekend kicking off both early. Celebrate these two holidays among other events with these local happenings.

KLCC Brewfest

Take your pick of 200 beers and ciders from 80 breweries at the KLCC Brewfest on Friday and Saturday. With food by Oakway Catering and entertainment provided by Soul Vibrator and DJ Connah Jay, sample your favorites or find a new niche. Be sure to get a taste of the Collaboration Brew: a themed collection of brews made specifically for the event by local beer masters.

Eugene Mardi Gras Dance Party

Benefitting women’s health and safety, the Eugene Mardi Gras Dance Party is a costume-friendly event. Featuring music by Eleven Eyes, Samba Ja, The Family Funtion’s Tribute to The Meters, Mr. Moo, Manoh, Andrew Mataus, DJ Casual Cowboy, and Dj Kelynn, you’re sure to get your dance on while bringing attention to a great cause.

Polar Plunge

Take the Polar Plunge on Saturday to benefit Special Olympics Oregon. To participate, $50 in donations must be raised for this amazing cause. They will also have a costume contest and participants will receive a long-sleeve t-shirt and a bowl of soup to warm up after their brisk swim! You can also watch for free!

Berg’s Bus toHoodoo Ski Area

Ditch your car, grab your gear and ride the Berg’s Bus to Hoodoo in style! The bus leaves Berg’s Ski & Snowboard Shop in Eugene at 6:45 a.m. and leaves Hoodoo at 4 p.m. Please be at Berg’s with your gear by 6:15 a.m.

Hoodoo’s Winter Carnival

Hoodoo’s Winter Carnival is a celebration of the fun and excitement of winter recreation. Fun events are scheduled throughout the day, including an ax throwing booth, Frisbee golf, musical chairs, a three-legged obstacle race, a team tube race, a hula-hoop contest, a pie eating contest, a ski javelin throw, an archery contest, a Hoodoo employee snow sculpture contest and bingo.

A Children’s “Valentine To-Do”

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with your family at the Adventure! Children’s Museum on Saturday. Eugene Printmakers will be on site to show your kids how to make cards the traditional way with lots of additional decorations and details that can be added to make the card extra special. Costumes, dancing, and treats will also be available. Donations toward supplies welcome.

2018 Truffle Shuffle

A Eugene tradition in its 36th year, the Truffle Shuffle has three race options to benefit veteran families through St. Vincent de Paul: a Kids 700-meter Fun Run, a 2-mile run/walk, and a 4-mile run. Finishers will each get a chocolate truffle. Register online, at Eugene Running Company, or on race day.
