Ophelia’s Place Bingo Fright Night 

Ophelia’s Place will be hosting a virtual Halloween themed bingo night this Thursday. Connect with others for a fun night of bingo and raffles while also supporting girls in the community. One lucky winner of the raffle will walk away with a VIP Wine Tour and Tasting at Willamette Valley Vineyards plus a $50 gift card. You won’t want to miss this fun night with Ophelia’s Place.

The Shedd: BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet

Making some of the most rich and popular cajun music in the country, this is a can’t miss event for any music lover. BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet received the 2020 Folk Alliance International Lifetime Achievement Award and was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2011. You’ll be on your feet and groovin’ the whole time.

The Shedd: Traveling with Hearing Loss

The Shedd has brought together a panel consisting of local and international speakers to discuss the challenges of traveling with hearing loss. With an audience Q and A, this event will truly be a conversation revolving around relevant and important information. This event is presented by The Shedd’s Loop Lane County Committee in celebration of the new hearing loop installations at Eugene Airport and Travel Lane County.

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow Live Reading @ SMJ House

Alastair Morley Jaques will be reading The Legend of Sleepy Hollow this Friday and Saturday at the Shelton McMurphey Johnson House. The story being an account of the most mysterious disappearance of one Ichabod Crane and the baleful doings of the spectral Headless HorseMan. What better way to get in the mood for Halloween with this spooky read through.

Spooky Stop Motion Animation Workshop

For ages 12-18, make this Halloween memorable with your own spooky stop motion movie. Together with a small group, participants will learn and apply basic skills in stop motion animation to produce a short video. Participants will learn about story-boarding, set design, video composition, and video editing. All necessary equipment, food, and beverages will be provided.

Radio Redux: The House in Cypress Canyon

Get creeped out this Halloween with Radio Redux. The Eugene Audio Theater Company will be telling the chilling story of The House in Cypress Canyon done live as a 1940s style radio program. This thriller is the perfect way to spend your Halloweekend.

The Shedd: Squirrel Nut Zippers

Back by popular demand, the Squirrel Nut Zippers are returning to the Shedd with their new album Beasts of Burgundy. Diá de los Muertos at Maude Kerns Art Center

The Maude Kerns Art Center will be celebrating their 28th annual Diá de los Muertos exhibit starting this Friday. The exhibit consists of beautiful artwork from local artists, community altars, and a special gift shop. The Mexican Day of the Dead celebration acknowledges the link between the communities of the living and the dead.
