The festivals and live performances continue this weekend! Get your local fair fix, see logs become art, and celebrate local history, while enjoying the summer. Don’t forget to stay hydrated!

Lane County Fair

The Lane County Fair is coming to the Fairgrounds this weekend! Come for the rides, stay for the concerts. There will be a wide selection of food, entertainment (including live performances from Melissa Etheridge and comedian Bill Engvall, among many others), games, exhibits, animals, and artisan booths! Buy your admission tickets and ride bracelet ahead of time on their website or at the gate!

Bohemia Mining Days

Celebrate Oregon’s mining history at Bohemia Mining Days in Cottage Grove. There will be historical talks, live music, parades, a carnival, the Discover Cottage Grove Historical Treasure Hunt, libations, and the Town Feud Contest, all following this year’s “Every Trail Tells a Tale” theme. Party on the Plaza: the BrassRoots Movement

The BrassRoots Movement has been performing traditional and modern New Orleans-style brass band music in and around Portland since 2010. Dance along at this free concert this Thursday at the Hult Center Plaza.

McKenzie River Chainsaw Art Festival

Twelve local professional carvers will be transforming wood into beautiful works of art at the McKenzie River Chainsaw Art Festival this weekend. Throughout the festival, each artist will carve four pieces, and all pieces will be available for bid through the festival’s auction. Come see the wood chips fly!

There’s a Pirate in the Pantry at Cottage Theatre

Featuring youth actors from their annual summer Melodrama Camp, Cottage Theatre presents “There’s a Pirate in the Pantry,” an interactive, family-friendly musical. Sing along and boo at the villains!

Summer Rowing Camp

The South Eugene Rowing Club is hosting their annual Summer Rowing Camp starting this weekend. Learn to row on beautiful Dexter Lake in one of their four sessions. Those who participate in Session 4, which is a week long, are eligible to compete in the Green Lake Summer Regatta in Seattle. Open to students entering eighth through 12th grade. Suburban Homecraft: Sourdough bread at SMJ House

Learn to make sourdough bread with the Shelton McMurphey Johnson House on Saturday. The instructor will show you how to catch, care for, and use a wild sourdough culture, proofing your dough, and secrets to the trade, all developed and passed down by our ancestors.

Annual Sand Master Jam

Dune Riders International is coming to Florence this weekend for the annual Sand Master Jam, the longest-running sandboard competition in the world. Competitors will face off in slalom, rail slide, and drag race challenges. This competition is also open to amateur sandboarders.

Covered Bridge Tour 

As part of Bohemia Mining Days, take a tour of six Cottage Grove-area covered bridges, starting with two in town. This two-hour tour, chartered courtesy of South Lane Wheels, will teach you about the history of the bridges with opportunities to take photos at all locations. There are two opportunites, but seating is limited, so secure your spot now!

Pfeiffer Winery 35th Anniversary Bash

Help Pheiffer Winery celebrate their 35th Anniversary this weekend! Chef Billy from the Zingaro will be serving delicious food while live music from Darline Jackson’s “My Band” gives ample dancing opportunities. RSVP is required.

Eugene Symphony in the Park

See the Eugene Symphony at their annual free summer concert at Cuthbert Amphitheater this Saturday.
