Eugene Symphony: Winter Dreams

Guest conductor Erina Yashima of the Philadelphia Orchestra lands in Eugene to present George Walker’s beautiful and touching dedication to his grandmother, followed by Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 4, featuring violinist Paul Huang in his Eugene debut. The program closes with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 1, nicknamed “Winter Dreams,” which will warm your heart during the cold months.

Béla Fleck: My Bluegrass Heart

Over the last four decades, Béla Fleck has made a point of boldly going where no banjo player has gone before. With his first bluegrass album in 24 years, My Bluegrass Heart is more than just a homecoming for Fleck, it features all new compositions and musicians from both the Newgrass aces of Fleck’s generation as well as the sharpest young players today! There will be two performances this evening, so don’t miss out!

Bruce Cockburn

Bruce Cockburn’s first album came out 50 years ago. He has since released 34 albums and played thousands of concerts around the world. This year’s 50th Anniversary Shows will have Bruce doing songs from each decade that he’s made records in from the 1960s through now.

Eugene Concert Choir: A Holiday Celebration

A time to celebrate! Vibrant color, pageantry, and joyous sounds will fill the concert hall with warmly familiar carols and glorious expressions of jubilation. The full-voiced Eugene Concert Choir will remind us all what a great, big, luscious choir sounds like singing holiday songs of many cultures, and the “Lords and Ladies” of Eugene Vocal Arts will harken back to Times of Olde with Renaissance carols, motets and madrigals in elaborate Elizabethan dress.
