Eugene Town Square September Shindig

On Thursday, visit the Park Blocks for the Eugene Town Square September Shindig. While there, check out and give feedback on the final plans for changes to the Park Blocks while also enjoying activities, music and dancing, food trucks and a beer garden, and free shaved ice.

Reflections on Stonewall at 50

The riots at Stonewall in 1969 marked the start of the modern gay rights movement. Now, 50 years later, the Museum of Natural and Cultural History is hosting a lecture by UO history professor and vice provost, Ellen Herman, to discuss what it can still teach us today.

Springfield Second Friday Artwalk

This Friday, Springfield is hosting their Second Friday ArtWalk, led by local resident, Madeleine Berney. The guided walk starts with the Annual National Juried Photography Show at the Emerald Art Center, then to the Hispanic Heritage Celebration and El Grito at the City Hall Gallery, art by Nissie Ellison and Ame Beard at the Academy of Arts and Academics, and a celebration of Latinx Arts and Culture at the Springfield Museum.

Annie at the Shedd

The Shedd is hosting a production of Annie, the classic story of Annie, an orphan, who goes from living the “Hard Knock Life” to finding new parents, with clashes with her foe, Miss Hannigan, along the way. See it at The Shedd until September 29.

Rods ’N Rhodies Car Show

Head to the coast for the annual Invitational Rods ’N Rhodies Car Show and Community-wide Garage Sale this weekend in Florence. Come for the West Coast’s best collection of hot rods, stay for the garage sale. The weekend will also include raffles, awards, and themed music, among other happenings on Friday and Saturday.

Veneta Harvest Festival

The Veneta-Fern Ridge community is celebrating the season at their annual Harvest Festival this Saturday. Join them for more than 70 craft vendors, food, kids’ activities, the Silver Threads Quilt Show, live music, a chili cookoff, and even a community pancake breakfast to start it all off.
