This is the week of the fall Eugene Home Show, which is always a great place to be inspired to make some updates to your home or plan your new construction. The Shedd welcomes Hawaiian musicians Hapa, Mountain Rose Herbs holds its virtual herbalism gathering, and tis the season for pumpkin patches and hayrides. “Murder on the Orient Express”
| Very Little Theatre is presenting a new adaptation of the beloved classic novel by Agatha Christie: Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed a dozen times, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, the passengers rely on detective Hercule Poirot to identify the murderer — in case they decide to strike again.

Maude Kerns Art Center Presents Día de los Muertos/Day of the Dead Exhibit
| The Maude Kerns Art Center celebrates the 29th annual Día de los Muertos Exhibit with artwork, community altars, and a special Day of the Dead Gift Shop. The exhibit opens on October 14 and is on display through November 4. A Fiesta Reception on October 28 will provide entertainment, including a performance by community group El Taller de Son Jarocho, Day of the Dead family art activities, and refreshments.

Art in the Time of Enlightened Rule: Woodblock Prints From the Meiji Era (1868-1912)
| The Meiji Era (1868-1912) marked the transition of Japan from an isolated feudal society to a modern, industrialized nation and an emergent great power influenced by Western ideas. Some of the most noted artists include Yoshitoshi Tsukioka (1839-1892), Toyohara Kunichika (1835-1900) and Toyohara Chikanobu (1838-1912), and White Lotus is delighted to showcase their depictions of this era of Enlightened Rule.
