It’s not quite Thanksgiving but it’s so close we can already taste the turkey and pumpkin pie! If you want to preorder some elements of your feast don’t forget to do that this week before it’s too late. It’s been three years in the making but it’s now time for the third and final act of “Tristan und Isolde,” the conclusion of Eugene Symphony’s three-year exploration of Richard Wagner’s operatic masterpiece. Enjoy a concert of holiday classic songs by candlelight at First Christian Church this week. This is the time of year when the Saturday Market gives way to the Holiday Market, which starts on Saturday. Hear Harlan & Brandon this Friday night at Elizabeth’s Wine Lounge. The Hult Center hosts “The Nutcracker Remixed,” where you can hear the classic holiday tale told with modern music from Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and more. Enjoy themed wine tastings at Sundance Wine Cellars on Friday and Saturday nights. Junction City’s Holiday Bazaar takes place this weekend. It’s Native American Heritage Month, and to honor that the Very Little Theatre in association with illioo Native Theatre presents “The Woman Who Was A Red Deer Dressed For The Red Deer Dance.” If you’re a wanna-be Dunder Mifflin employee, head to the Hult Center for The Office Trivia With “Todd Packer.” Jonathan Foster, a songwriter from Redding, California, is performing “authentic roots music for the ears of old souls” at Thinking Tree Spirits. Nuno: The Language of Textiles continues at White Lotus Gallery through November 25. Tallmadge Doyle’s exhibit Celestial Oceans continues at Karin Clarke Gallery through November 25. “Visions and Vessels” at the Native-owned Don Dexter Gallery hosts Eastern Band Cherokee artist Christy Long ‘Galvloi’ for a limited exhibition of her carved bowls featuring Southeastern indigenous iconography through December 11. A photography exhibit by Ray Bidegain continues at Don Dexter Gallery through December 29. While the “Strange Weather: From the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation” exhibit is on display at he University of Oregon’s Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art through April 2024, don’t wait that long to go. Jordan Schnitzer’s personal collection was recently ranked as one of the top 200 global privately owned collections, so it’s worth a visit.

Eugene Symphony’s “Tristan und Isolde, Act III”
| The third and final act of “Tristan und Isolde” is the conclusion of Eugene Symphony’s three-year exploration of Richard Wagner’s operatic masterpiece. American composer Scott Joplin, the “King of Ragtime,” was among the many inspired by the opera. The overture to Joplin’s opera Treemonisha, placed in a former slave community in 1884, opens the concert after Francesco shares his thoughts about the enduring significance of Tristan und Isolde. Nuno, which simply means “cloth” in Japanese, is headed by world-renowned textile designer Reiko Sudo, who launched the company more than 35 years ago with textile icon Jun’ichi Arai. Nuno seamlessly networks the independent spinners, dyers, and mills that still survive in villages throughout Japan with a highly-developed communications infrastructure. Combining traditional weaving technologies with state-of-the-art materials and manufacturing technologies, the special production processes behind each and every one of Nuno’s unique designs rely heavily on the expertise of Japan’s highly skilled crafts persons and their centuries of accumulated experience.
