Often heralded as the start to summer, Memorial Day weekend is a great time to not only honor those whose day this is, but also participate in one of the many special weekend-centered events. Make sure you take full advantage of the three-day weekend by participating in one of these great activities.

Columbia Gorge Winemaker’s Winner at Marche

Thursday evening at Marche is dedicated to Columbia Gorge winemakers, including Vigneron Alexis Pouillon from Domain Poullion and Trevor Hertich from Idiot’s Grace. The wine experts will discuss their process and pairings with Chef Rocky Maselli’s carefully designed menu.

Prefontaine Classic

Pay homage to Pre at the Prefontaine Classic this weekend. The nation’s longest-running outdoor track and field invitational, this event will showcase all the running, jumping, throwing, and sprinting that these athletes have trained for. Cheer on your favorites as they break personal records, win medals, and embody Pre’s spirit.

Breakfast at the Bike Bridges

The second in the series, Breakfast at the Bike Bridges will meet this Friday at the Delta Ponds Bridge where the path meets East Bank Path. This special event for all trail users provides free breakfast bagels, coffee, bike safety checks, registrations, other bike-related items. It meets the last Friday of the month between May and September.

Memorial Day Weekend on the Territorial Trail

The Territorial Wine Trail is celebrating Memorial Day Weekend by inviting you to a weekend of winetasting. Visit your favorite winery along the Territorial Wine Trail for the terrific views, holiday-specific specials, live music, and food options.

Viper Cats on the Farm

Viper Cats, one of the area’s great rockabilly bands, will be performing at Agrarian Ales on Saturday. Join them for dancing, brews, and delicious, farm fresh food. This event is family friendly!

Last Saturday Demo Gardener’s Salve

Learn how to make gardener’s salve at Mountain Rose Herbs as part of their Last Saturday Demo series. Take in the smells at MRH with the opportunity to take some the salve home with you.

Memorial Day Weekend at Pfeiffer Winery

Memorial Day Regatta

A Memorial Day tradition, the Eugene Yacht Club will be hosting their annual Memorial Day Regatta. Boats will race on an Olympic Circle Course with delicious food. See their website for full race details and to register your rig.

Crawfish Boil at Oregon Wine LAB

To celebrate Da Nang’s, their food truck neighbor, birthday, Oregon Wine LAB will be hosting a crawfish boil. Each person will receive a whole pound of crawfish, corn, potatoes, shrimp, and boudin sausage, as well as a choice of a bottle of wine or a pitcher of beer with the purchase of one ticket (which feeds two people).
