Riverside Chamber Symphony Concert | The Riverside Chamber Symphony is a 30 piece ensemble led by Conductor Philip Bayles and Associate Conductor Jared Fischer. Mr. Fischer will conduct the lively overture from Donizetti’s popular comic opera, Don Pasquale. Mr. Bayles will conduct the Suite for Orchestra by Saint-Saens, loosely based on the five movement pattern and rhythms of a Baroque dance suite. The ensemble will also perform the Egmont Overture by Beethoven. The work opens with a slow and strikingly brutal symbol of the oppression and suffering. The tumultuous middle section is about struggle, war, and the death of the hero Egmont. In his death he becomes a victorious martyr in the fight against oppression, and Beethoven shows the transformation of tragedy into triumph in a brilliant joyful coda. A $10 donation is suggested.7:30-8:30pm at Richard E. Wildish Community Theater, riversidechambersymphony.org
