The 4th of July is right around the corner and much is happening around town. Here is all you need to know about the festivities in Lane County this year.

Florence

Old-fashioned family fun and games, pie- and watermelon-eating contests, food, music, and one of the best fireworks shows on the coast launched from a barge in the Siuslaw River to add a dramatic reflection off the water. Also featured will be a bicycle parade down Bay Street. Add synchronized patriotic music and you’ve got yourself a show to remember! Creswell

Creswell will be hosting their all-day 4th of July festival with a heaping helping of festivities including a parade, live music, and vendors in the park with an array of talent, food, and crafts. Head to creswellchamber.com for details.

Springfield

Springfield Utility Board presents its annual Light of Liberty Celebration for the 4th of July! Come enjoy live music, a plethora of food vendors, all sorts of fun activities for kids, and an explosive fireworks show, of course. This year the main stage features Abbacadabra (an Abba cover band), the Greg Nestler Band, and Jet Harris and His Hotrod Hellcats. Two other stages offer a variety of entertainers. Harrisburg

Harrisburg celebrates their 70th consecutive July 4th celebration with a 2-day event starting with a July 3rd, breakfast served by volunteer firefighters. They also have a Firecracker 5K and Kids 400M Fun Run, kids bike decorating contest, pets costume contest, coloring contest, and car hop and cruise in. July 4 starts with breakfast again, followed by flag raising, one of the biggest parades in the State, live music, a boat flag parade on river, food trucks, vendor booths, chicken BBQ, obstacle course, historical readings and much more! Pleasant Hill

There is a daytime barbecue at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with a bounce house and other kid-friendly entertainment, and a large fireworks display at dusk, which is easily visible from the Pleasant Hill high and elementary school parking lots.

Cottage Grove

Eugene

Eugene Pro Rodeo

The Eugene Pro Rodeo is on for the 4th of July weekend! Watch cowboys and cowgirls compete in Roughstock, bareback riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, bull riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, and roping events. There will be rodeo clowns, carnival food, and beer. On July 4, the rodeo concludes with the largest fireworks show in Lane County. Check out eugeneprorodeo.com for more info.

Butte to Butte

The Rexius OTC Butte to Butte event includes a 10K Run, 5K Run/ Walk, and 4 Mile Mayor’s Walk. Courses take runners and walkers through the historic streets of Eugene, Oregon. Eugene Emeralds Freedom Fireworks Extravaganza
